Time to start preparing for the Patriot Challenge 5K Mountain Bike Ttrail Race/5k Paved Trail Walk & 1K Fun Run on Monday July 4th. If you enjoyed the Green Legs and Hamstrings on March 12, then this is the race for you. Celebrate National Trails Day by participating in a 5K race on High Bridge 
Trail State Park. The park is a rail to trail conversion and is a wide, level 
surface with virtually no grade. The race will take place on Saturday, June 
4, 2011 and begin at 8:00 am near Main Street in Farmville. The race will 
follow an out and back course. Awards will be presented to the top 3 overall 
male & female finishers and top 3 finishers in each age category. The top 

Just ran Witchback

I decided to give the trail another shot today. I ran on Witchback, another try at prepping for the Green Legs and Hamstrings race next week.  This time was much better. I didn't fall, and I didn't get lost! It was pretty hilly, but call me crazy, I like hills. One of my favorite races is the Goodyear Race simply because of the hills. I'm actually pretty sad I have to miss it this year. It falls on the same day as the Cooper River Bridge Run in Charleston, SC. I will be attending that with 40,000 other happy runners.
